This will be my last upload onto the blog for this year. I worked for around six months in a small ice cream company in Gloucester. The company was called Tartaglias and they produced some of the best ice-cream in the country. I don't know if it's still going but I hope so. Anyway, I sometimes took out the ice cream van. It was good fun. I used to insist that if they wanted a particular ice cream they asked for it by name. Ah, the Lollygobblechocbomb. I probably didn't sell many of these.

I've just heard that an old school friend of mine looks at the site at times so if you're looking this time, Hi Martin Collins, long time no see. Take care and have a great New Year. Well, it's coming to the end of the year. It's been eventful. It didn't live up to its expectations but then again they seldom do. Still, those around me have done well. My kids continue to thrive and shine and that makes up for any other dissapointments I may have had.

I know I'm a lucky guy to be surrounded by a great family....what else could you want? Have a great Christmas and New Year.

Another 'gathering' illustration. I like to do this type of illustration. I like looking at crowds of people. There's always something interesting going on somewhere. I like to put as much of that as I can in these illustrations. I have only personnaly been on a couple of camping forays but the idea of it appeals to me. My wife has never been one to rough it so the closest we have ever been to 'going camping' was to stay at a Travelodge hotel.

August has been a slow month. I've still not fully recovered from my operation and as a result I haven't been able to work as much as I would like.

I hope to be back on form sooner rather than later

Nuts

This is an illustration I recently completed with a children's book in mind. I'm not sure if I'll go ahead with it but I quite liked the illustration.

I have been negligent with my blog recently. There has been a lot going on. I will be away for a short time from next week as I have to have a small operation that needs a reasonable recovery time. I'll be on the case soon after that.

This was done for self-promotion. I love the feeling of the old 50's ghost films. It doesn't matter how fast the victim runs the monster always catches him up even though he's walking at a third of the speed of the victim... Love it.

Here's a new design that I 'll be putting up on Threadless. It keeps me busy in a evening...

It can be weird with a blog, you never know if you are putting stuff up for your own amusement or if anyone out there ever looks at it.

Either way, I enjoy putting the odd drawing up and hope that it gives someone somewhere some enjoyment.

Tee shirt idea

Another robot drawing. This must be the best use for robots. Forget the terminator series.

It's odd but sometimes, when you draw something the feeling comes over you that it would be fun to do some more in the same vein. I felt like that about the robot. After I finished the first drawing I have drawn about four others. This is the one I like most.

I thought I would include a little love interest in this illustration. It's not for anything in particular....just for fun...isn't that what we all do it for?

I have been interested in illustrating a deck of cards and this was my first attempt. I think it was the joker first because it doesn't belong to any particular suit.

I didn't want the cards to look staid. I prefer the slghtly more grotesque look.

I quite liked the finished result. I think I'll do some of the others and see how they turn out.

I've been busy the last month so I haven't placed many new images on the site but here's the latest.
I do these drawings for my own amusement. They don't generally get used anywhere although I am thinking about putting them together in book form at the end of the year

I've been illustrating a book over the past month so I've not really had time to dabble with the blog. It should be complete in early March so I'll do some more scribbling then.

This is one of VERY few drawings of a racing car. It's odd because I love Formula 1 racing but never draw cars. I thought this old Bugatti might be a good start

I've been thinking about putting together an assortment of illustrations together of girls with a view to publishing them at the end of the year...Just a thought.
